To answer your first question if you register as an individual player we will try to match your preferences to availability as much as possible. If we are not able to find a satisfactory team for you we will of course issue a full refund to you. The goal is to have you playing on a team this winter season.

Q: I don’t like the team I am placed on, can you refund my money? (indie players)

As for the second question you had, once we have successfully placed you on a team for the season we will not be able to provide any refunds. The main reason is because you will be taking up a spot on the team that could have went to another player. Of course the GM of the team can either find another player who will buy your spot out, or you can find someone else to take over for you on the team with the consent of the GM, though these scenarios are up to you and the team GM. The NCHL as a league will not be involved in that.

Does this make sense?

Yes we are still taking on individual players. The season starts September 10th and you have until then to have your registration in. Of course the sooner you have it in the better shot you have at getting on a team this winter.

A: Sheena, unfortunately we do not have discounts for university players specifically. That being said when you join in a group of 3 or more player each player gets a $50 buddy credit. In addition to that you can always go on a monthly payment plan and that way your registration fees work out to less than $100/month at the moment. All fees must be paid by Feb 1st, 2010 and that means as of August 12th, there are 7 possible payments left.

Q: What is the policy on possibly missing games because of an inflexible schedule?

A: As far as schedules are concerned no one has to make all the games, but you do need to make at least a third of the games in order to qualify for playoffs. Winter hockey is usually played later at night, 10:45 PM is the average start for games so if you are concerned about missing games due to having class, I think you should be able to make the majority of games.

A: Absolutely, we can issue individual receipts for players on the team that need the receipt in order to be reimbursed at work. Please send us an email at admin@nchl.com to request it. We need the name of the player, the name of the team, mailing address for the player and the amount he/she paid to play.

A: There is no deadline per se, the sooner your register however the better shot you have at joining a team this winter season. We will stop accepting individual registration once the league and teams are full.

A:When your players pay their fees with DirectPay you can absolutely apply these payments towards your deposit. However, only the potion of the payment that has been processed (“cash” in hand) will apply.

For example, if you have 4 people paying DirectPay, 3 with 1 payment each and 1 person is doing monthly payments, the full payments will apply 100% to the deposit however, only the charged monthly payments can apply to the deposit. So for the player doing the monthly payments, the first payment will be applied to the deposit in addition to any other payments we have processed.

This means that unless we have the full $2,500 deposit (“cash” in hand) we can not put your team into the selection order by which you are picking a schedule. Only when we have the full deposit paid, whether with DirectPay or otherwise can we place your team in the selection order.
